When choosing your Water Garden Supplies there is nothing like deciding on a Waterfall for your Pond or making a Pond Less Waterfall feature. It can give you that sound and feeling of flowing water over rocks that you can just watch and listen to for hours. Add some pond lighting and your water feature comes to life at night.

There are only a few Pond Supplies that you will need when putting together your waterfall. The first would be a spillway or a waterfall filter which would then give you a 10” to a 48” sheet of water coming out of the weir after adding a pump.  You could camouflage the top of the spillway with real rocks or a fake rock.

An essential part of the Water Garden Supplies will be selecting a pond pump that will have enough flow. Don’t under size your pump. You can always turn down the amount of water by adding a valve right after the pump to slow the flow down. Not only are you able to slow down the flow but a direct drive pump actually will run more efficient when slowing it down.

Your pond liner will need to go underneath your weir so it will catch any water that might get through the rocks when building your waterfall. Black Waterfall foam can help fill in the spaces between rocks to direct the flow of water. When placing large rocks on top of the liner where water will hold it might be a good idea to use some pond underlayment on top to prevent any punctures.

In a pond less waterfall feature make sure your basin is large enough that there will always be enough water for your pump. One way of having enough water is to use some crates like ecoblox instead of rocks inside your basin. Then you would cover just the top portion with stone or river rock.

Pond Kits are a good way to have all the Supplies that are needed without figuring on every individual item necessary.  In addition a UV Clarifier would help out with Algae Control. No one wants to see a nice waterfall feature and then look at green water coming from it.

A pond should have its waterfall running 24/7 to give the fish the extra oxygen needed for a healthy pond and good survival rate. Turning on and off the waterfall with a timer even though it may save money is just like having a fire hose blast coming inside your house. If you have a pond less waterfall then a timer is the way to go.
