Matala Power Cyclone Pond Vacuum (MTCYLONE)

I was using 2 PondOVac 4 and when the second one died I decide to get this one. I have to say, it is a awesome product, especially because it has the second pump inside and you can discharge waste water even to higher elevation than your vacuum is. Nevertheless Taiwanese are not Germans and it shows. The product has couple of flies, little details which I wish were solved or addressed. First thing is the fact that you have to unplug or plug second pump each time when you have to empty the bottom part. Many times I forget to plug it back and then your vacuum overflows. Second I would appreciate some handle on the bottom. There is nothing and it is difficult to turn the whole bottom part upside down to empty it. Also I wish there would be a better way how to attach the cord to the vacuum. I always have to hold it when I move the vacuum. Germans would also design it so you can attach not only cord, but other attachments (hose, nozzles, brush etc.) Rear wheels are cool, but front one (turning ones) not so good. One fell off and I still haven't figure out how to put back. You need a special very flat wrench to screw it back. I have to get it first. What is good about it is that the flow is great and you don't really need that stupid net inside. I have been using it without it and I was vacuuming gravel, leaves. It never got stuck or got into the second pump inside, I just dumped after vacuuming. I can do much more thing with it I wasn't able to do with PondOVac 4. and I am happy. Whoever design it did great job, but I would recommend to make it better and easier to use, because there is a lot of thing to improve.

It was a little hard to throw down $650 for this pond vac. I am impressed with what it can do though. I had several inches of muck on the bottom of my pond. There is a mesh filter bag that collects solids and thick muck. That would get full in 15 seconds and I would have to stop and empty it. I must have done that 25 or 30 times to clean an area of about 80 sq. ft. I saved all the muck to use as fertilizer in my garden. I must have at least 50 gallons. Should be much easier to keep clean now if I do regular cleaning. It is a good size vac with a lot of hose. I've not found a place to store it yet. Thats really my only problem. Happy I made the purchase. If you can swallow the price tag its definitely worth it!!!

If you want to spend more time climbing out of your pond and unplugging the hose, I use a long piece of pvc, OR you have a dirty aquarium, this is the unit. Frustrating to continually climb into the pond only to lose suction and have to climb out.
