Oase Biosmart 5000 Filter

The Oase Biosmart 5000 filter system is built to trap Larger particles in the filter pads and not let them get re-introduced into the pond. The filter supports an oxygen-rich biological environment (red and blue filter pads) in which harmful substances such as nitrites are converted into more benign compounds in a process called nitrification. The Biosmart 5000 and Biosmart 10000 were also designed to support a second, low-oxygen biological environment (green filter pads) where microorganisms convert the products of the first phase into gaseous nitrogen, which can then escape into the atmosphere.

All filter pads are hung from the bottom of the internal cover. This makes cleaning extremely easy and convenient. When the pads require cleaning (as indicated by the cleaning indicator), they can be pumped clean by pulling on the built-in handles. Removal of the pads for cleaning is not necessary.

The filter features a cleaning indicator. When the water can no longer pass through the filter pads of the required rate, an indicator alerts to that fact. The thermometer displays the current water temperature and can be used as an indication for when winterization should take place. The Biosmart comes with a 3" discharge adapter.
